I am delighted to announce that my flash fiction piece “Feed the Meter” is available ONLINE, FOR FREE, RIGHT NOW over at Comets and Criminals magazine. The story weighs in at a svelte 600 words. I hope you enjoy it.
The parking meter was a honey badger–I recognized it from a nature documentary …”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the inspiration for “Feed the Meter” came while I was commuting to work on the King County Metro bus. If anyone wants to nominate a genre that you think the story belongs to, please comment below! I’ve struggled to categorize this one.
The full TOC for Issue #3 is available here, with a new story released each week from May through July. Last week’s “Wyoming” was a thoroughly enjoyable dinosaur western (!) by Grant Stone, and I’m looking forward to many of the upcoming stories as well.
And finally, some photos of the cherry blossoms this spring, which really has nothing to do with honey badgers or parking meters. But, you know, pretty.

Offline, I’ve received one vote for urban fantasy and one vote for surrealism.
